Hop to It Girls!

Hop to it Girls is a  science-based, hands-on nature day camp co-sponsored by Department of Teaching and Learning and the College of Education. Rising fourth, fifth, and sixth-grade females will be immersed in a one-week camp where they will be learning about reptiles and amphibians. Inquisitive young ladies will love this five-day nature camp where they explore the fascinating world of amphibians and reptiles side by side with female scientists and science educators, as well as practice the engineering design process in designing humane traps for sampling of these animals. Through up-close encounters with a variety of animals such as turtles, frogs, lizards, and snakes—as well as their local environments—participants learn about amphibian and reptile ecology and conservation, as well as the role of engineering in the application of scientific investigations. Select this LINK to see all GSU summer Stem camps.

Dates for Hop to it Girls: June 19th - 23rd.
Location: College of Education at GSU

School of Choice & Transferrs

In accordance with state law (O.C.G.A. § 20-2-2131), parents or guardians, who have a child enrolled in a public school, may request to transfer the child to another public school within their school district. Bulloch County Schools annually accepts school choice/transfer requests during the month of May.  Bulloch County Schools’ annual window for public school choice/transfers (HB 251) for the 2017-2018 school year opens Monday, May 1, at 7:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m, on Friday, May, 19. Requests for transfers will not be accepted prior to the window opening, nor after the window is closed.  Please select this link to the BOE site for more information on how to request a transfer.

Parent Survey

Bulloch County Schools is conducting an online parent survey for its Title I schools now through May 12.  All of the school system's campuses, except Statesboro High School and Southeast Bulloch High School are Title I schools. If you have a child at any of our 13 Title I schools, we encourage you to participate in this survey. If you prefer to complete a paper survey instead, one can be made available to you by contacting your school's family liaison.

As the parent/guardian of a child attending a Title I school, you are an important part of the Title I team.  Your input is vital in the planning and implementation of the family engagement programs and activities in our school system. The focus of all Title I programs is to help eligible students meet the same high academic achievement standards expected of all children, regardless of their socioeconomic status and background.  The following survey is confidential and will be used to assist us with future planning for parent and family engagement activities and events. We appreciate your feedback and thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.

Survey is brief and your input is welcomed! Link to survey
